Property market competition remains ferocious across the U.S., with more than half of the homes that changed hands in November seeing bidding wars—a side effect of the gulf between buyers’ healthy appetite for new homes and the dearth of supply to satiate them—according to the latest report from Redfin.

Of the home offers handled by Redfin agents nationwide last month, 53.6% faced competition, the online real estate portal said Thursday.
